"Whichever play you ( Blue ) make, you will have to risk fair amount of gammon loss. Having the 23 point anchor doesn't guarantee your saving gammon. You may make the golden anchor next turn after Move B, and if do you the anchor will definitely save your gammon more than you would after Move A.

"Because Yellow doesn't have a spare on his 6 point, and all other points are stripped, his attacking potential is rather limited after Move B. The Temp. Map B indicates that Yellow's 13, 14, 15, 24, and 34 don't do much work for him.

"The histogram shows that Yellow's truly scary numbers after which you would regret making Move B are only those that can point on Yellow's 5 point or crashing 55."
